The Maison de Cassal is an old building located at number 5 Breedewee (Rue Large) in Luxembourg City. The photo shows the “back” of the house on the side of the Chemin de la Corniche.
It was built at the end of the 16th century by the scribe of the Provincial Council, Baron P.M. de Cassal.
After World War II, it was renovated by architect Hubert Schumacher.
Today, it houses the government’s Media and Communications Service and the Film Fund Luxembourg.
The Maison de Cassal has been listed as a National Monument on the register of classified monuments since 1940.
