View of the Pfaffenthal church, the Alzette River, and the old Pfaffenthal residential quarter. A new street of residential buildings has been added along the riverbank. The (lower part of) an elevator, which opened in 2017, is visible in this more recent photo. This elevator facilitates easier access between the upper part of the city and the Pfaffenthal district in the valley. The elevator has also become a major tourist attraction due to its amazing panoramic view of the old fortifications.
